Our Founder’s Story
On Thanksgiving Day, November 23, 1978, and as a 19-year-old Armenian immigrant with big dreams, Zarik came to the US with $500.
Working 5 different jobs, including washing dishes, toilets and working night shifts in gas stations, and through extreme hardship, Zarik earned his degree in Computer Science from the University of North Texas in 1983.
Zarik is known to say, “Even though I had an extremely difficult life at a young age, and I faced many challenges and hardships to work and study hard, I am grateful for those years. I always imagined a better life and developed many soft skills which years later allowed me to become an entrepreneur and begin my own entrepreneurship journeys in the software world.”
With full participation in the Industry Revolution 4.0, which was the beginning of the computer age and then automation, Zarik has been designing and developing and investing in advanced technologies and innovative solutions for the past 40 years.
Considering one of his career achievements, Zarik was responsible for the development of the mission-critical Electric Power System Flight Software for the International Space Station (ISS) for NASA.
This system was launched on November 20, 1998, by NASA and has successfully been orbiting around the earth ever since with valuable research missions for the future of life on Earth.
Zarik is the Inventor of multiple patents, and multiple Trademarks including IMAGINE ALWAYS™, and “Leadership as a Service™”. These trademarks have become the basis of his Public Speaking theme, where he promotes the role of “Leadership”, “Kindness”, and “Imagination” in all we do in our lives.
As a Professor at Pepperdine University, Zarik has been teaching and mentoring Doctoral, MBA and undergraduate Business School students in Entrepreneurship, International Management, Venture Initiation, Managing the Philanthropic Enterprise, and Social Entrepreneurship courses for the past 15 years.
Zarik holds a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of North Texas, MBA in Business Management from Pepperdine University, and Doctorate from Pepperdine, specializing in Organizational Development and Leadership. Zarik’s thesis is published, and is titled, "An Investigation Into The Critical Success Factors of Software Development Process, Time, and Quality."
On July 23, 2015, at the age of 55 and accompanied by his 18-year-old son, Zarik realized a lifelong dream of climbing the holy Mount Ararat, a National Treasure for all Armenians, reaching the peak at 16,854’ at 06:30 local time.
